2010 World Expo Shanghai – Icelandic tourism seminar in Shanghai

Ms. Katrin Juliusdottir minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism lead a trade mission delegation to China from the 16th – 22 June 2010. The delegation consisted of 15 Icelandic tourism companies, The Icelandic Tourist Board, City of Reykjavik, Trade Council of Iceland and The Icelandic Travel Industry Association.

The national day of Iceland was also the day of Icelandic tourism at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. On that occasion Chinese media and companies in the tourism sector where invited to attend a short business seminar where Icelandic tourism companies and organizations gave an introduction to Iceland and its tourism companies followed by business to business meetings. Ms. Katrin Juliusdottir minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism opened the seminar and touched upon the good cooperation between China and Iceland and prosperous opportunities in strengthening tourism between the countries. The National- and tourism day of Iceland concluded with the concert of the Icelandic musician KK – Kristjan Kristjansson and band in the World EXPO Culture Center and thereafter a minister reception at the Icelandic Pavilion.
